Welcome to ACE Kendo Academy – Your Kendo Home in Chantilly, Virginia

At ACE Kendo Academy, we are proud to offer full-time Kendo classes Monday through Friday for adults, teens, and children. Located in the heart of Chantilly, VA, our dojo is a welcoming space where beginners and experienced practitioners alike can train, grow, and connect through the art of Japanese swordsmanship.

Originally founded as a small Kendo club, ACE overcame challenges during the pandemic and proudly reopened in November 2022 in our permanent home. Since then, we have been actively teaching, learning, and competing—building a strong, vibrant Kendo community.

Our head sensei, Sang Wook Cha (6 Dan), is a former professional Kendo athlete from Korea with extensive experience in both competition and coaching. Cha sensei blends traditional Kendo training with a modern, approachable curriculum that emphasizes discipline, respect, and personal growth. His goal is to make Kendo accessible to everyone while promoting physical fitness, mental focus, and character development.

At ACE, we take pride in our high-quality instruction, experienced leadership, and continuous effort to improve our curriculum and standards. We strive to be recognized as the premier Kendo dojo in Northern Virginia.
